Travel Abroad Programs
Spring 2009 in Rome and Paris:
The Department of Film and Television will offer a full-semester international study program in Europe in spring of 2009. The program will be set in Rome and Paris and be directed by Professor Michael Stinson (stinson@sbcc.edu). Classes include FS120: Great Directors, FilmPro185: Directing for the Camera, History 104, and Art 104. Students will study the great directors of Italy and France and shoot their own short films on the streets of Rome and Paris with an option to attend the Cannes Film Festival at program's end.

The Department of Film and Television will offer a 3-week summer international study program in Europe during the Summer of 2009. The program will be set in Prague, Berlin, and Paris and be directed by Professor Nico Maestu (maestu@sbcc.edu). Classes include FS120: Great Directors, FS111: Contemporary World Cinema, FS173: Screenwriting 1 or FS174: Screenwriting 2. Students will study the great directors, the film history, and the contemporary films of the Czech Republic, Germany, and France. There will be morning classes with afternoon lab time at cinematheques, film museums, film studios, special effects houses, etc, as well as historical and art museums and landmarks. Students will complete most of their assignments on the class blog.
