Programs and Services Available to Residents

The Isla Vista Community Center islocated at 976 Embarcadero Del Mar and the Community Room at 970 Embarcadero Del Mar. These spaces are free to reserve for anyone who lives in Isla Vista. All of our regular programs are free for anyone!

The Isla Vista Beautiful team scouts Isla Vista daily to address beautification issues.  Everything from graffiti, trash, dim/out streetlights, and more.

The Isla Vista Beautiful team also supports efforts toward a more sustainable move-in and move-out process.  They will be hosting a Move In Sale in September with donations from previous move-outs.  Come shop affordable, second-hand items to fill your space!

The Isla Vista Compost Collective offers a reliable and free composting service to Isla Vista residents who can either sign up for food scrap collection service or drop off their food scraps at our community composting sites.

The resulting compost is donated to local gardens.  To date, 70k lbs. of food scraps have been diverted from landfills since the establishment of the program in 2017.

Isla Vista Compost Collective also supports food recovery in Isla Vista.

Safety Stations are available every Friday and Saturday night from 8 p.m. - 2 a.m. at Little Acorn Park (across from 7/11 at the top of the loop) and Window to the Sea (Del Playa).

SSPs are there to provide water, phone charging, walk-up safety escorts, and a safe space to rest or report emergencies.

The Survivor Resource Hub is a website with all of our local resources synthesized into one space for you to explore.  We also run a survivor-safe space in Isla Vista where survivors of sexual assault, their families and friends can access supportive services from Standing Together to End Sexual Assault in a safe and private location.

This program provides a no-risk opportunity to negotiate a solution to your housing issues.  Our bilingual mediator is available for roommate, neighbor, and landlord/tentant issues. Sign up on the website.
