LVN FAQs

This page contains frequently asked questions regarding SBCC's LVN program.


Application and General Information

Applications are accepted at any time when all prerequisites have been completed.  Refer to the LVN webpage.
A new cohort begins every third semester. Spring 2025, fall 2026, etc.
The estimated cost is around $4,500 to $5,000.
Yes. All ADN program prerequisites must be met and application dates must be followed. Please see the ADN program prerequisites.
The program website has all of the information. Navigate using the Vocational Nursing Menu on the top bar of the webpage. There are also program information meetings held during the Fall and Spring semesters.

Prerequisites

You need to have an active CNA license or have completed a CNA program within five (5) years of the cohort program start date. 
No, there is no time frame in which you must have taken your LVN prerequisites. Only the CNA certification has a specific time frame - see question above.

TEAS Test

You may take the TEAS whenever you feel ready. You must find your own testing site and date and incur the cost yourself. You must first create an account on the ATI website prior to finding a testing site and date.
